Ryan Welter, MD, PhD
Ryan Welter, MD, PhD
Westwood, Massachusetts
Dr. Welter is a physician, scientist, and surgeon working at the intersection of cosmetic surgery and regenerative medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed residency training at Brown University. He also holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Oklahoma State University, where his research on nitric oxide and mitochondrial electron transport contributed to the understanding of cellular metabolism and energy regulation. This dual training as physician and scientist shaped his mechanism-driven approach to clinical care.
After completing his training, Dr. Welter entered private practice in Massachusetts, where he founded and scaled a network of primary care and urgent care centers, helping pioneer the outpatient urgent care model now widely adopted nationwide. In 2005, he shifted his focus to hair restoration and aesthetic medicine, founding the New England Center for Hair Restoration. He was an early adopter of biologic therapies, introducing platelet-rich plasma in 2006 and stromal vascular fraction (SVF) therapy in 2011, reframing hair loss as a marker of underlying regenerative biology rather than a purely cosmetic concern.
Dr. Welter’s integration of molecular biology, regenerative techniques, and surgical precision led to the founding of Regeneris Medical, where cell-based therapies, longevity strategies, and aesthetic medicine are continually refined. His work is driven by a commitment to improving health, function, and confidence through thoughtful combinations of medical, surgical, and regenerative care.
