Fellowship Training Program in Regenerative Medicine

Biocellular Therapies, tSVF, cSVF & Orthobiologics

Sponsored by the San Diego Academy of Regenerative Therapies and Science (SDARTS)

A Message from Our Founder

“This inaugural fellowship marks a watershed moment—not only for SDARTS but for the entire emerging field of Adipose Regenerative Therapies. As the first program of its kind, it reflects our deep commitment to establishing validated, reproducible standards of care in a domain that is rapidly advancing yet still largely undefined. Through immersive, hands-on training in advanced biocellular modalities, we are not only shaping the future of regenerative medicine—we are codifying its integrity. This is more than a curriculum; it is the architecture of trust.”

Program Overview

The Fellowship Training Program in Regenerative Medicine is an invitation to physicians seeking mastery in the evolving domain of biocellular and orthobiologic therapies. Structured as a one-year journey of rigorous study and clinical immersion, the program offers future leaders a pathway into the heart of regenerative medicine.

Our fellowship is designed with a specialized focus on orthobiologics, nanofat, tissue stromal vascular fraction (tSVF), cellular stromal vascular fraction (cSVF), micronized fat, and high-density platelet-rich plasma (HD PRP/PPP), all coupled with advanced ultrasound-guided procedures.

Program Duration: 1 Year

Training Categories

Fellows will receive comprehensive training across six core areas:

1. Orthobiologics

Master the use of biologic materials to promote tissue healing, repair, and regeneration in musculoskeletal conditions using autologous cells and tissues.

2. Cellular Therapies (cSVF and tSVF)

Learn isolation and application techniques for stromal vascular fraction, including microcannula harvesting, compression protocols, and preparation of nanofat, micronized tSVF, and cellular SVF for diverse clinical applications.

3. Adipose-Derived Therapies

Gain expertise in nanofat, micronized AD-tSVF, and related applications for musculoskeletal restoration, tissue augmentation, and rejuvenation of aging or degenerative tissues.

4. Platelet Therapies

Master the preparation, documentation, and application of High-Density Platelet-Rich Plasma (HD PRP) and Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP) for optimal patient outcomes.

5. Ultrasound-Guided Techniques

Develop proficiency in diagnostic and needle-guided procedures for precise targeting of damaged tissues using minimally invasive techniques.

6. Chronic and Ischemic Wound Applications

Apply autologous regenerative approaches for chronic and acute wound care, particularly in devascularized and ischemic conditions.

Program Structure

The fellowship follows a graduated responsibility model designed to build competency and confidence:

Observation Phase

Fellows observe procedures performed by experienced physicians

Supervised Practice

Fellows assist and perform procedures under direct supervision

Advanced Practice

Fellows perform treatments under supervision with increasing autonomy

Independent Practice

Based on demonstrated competency, fellows perform procedures with minimal supervision

Research and Presentation

Fellows contribute to research projects and present findings, with publication or presentation required within 6 months of program completion

Clinical Documentation Requirement

Fellows must complete comprehensive documentation of a minimum of 20 fully tracked cases, including patient history, diagnostics, treatment protocols, and post-treatment outcomes with photographic documentation.
